It is hard to believe it has been six months since this angel has come into our lives. Abigail loves to smile and laugh while always keeping an eye on her brother and sister. Abigail is in the 90th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight (16.5 pounds).
Pictures taken by the amazing Andrea Meadows.
Carson's new favorite app is called DubSmash. This app allows her to lip sync to her favorite songs. Expect more of these in the future, Carson can't get enough...
Mothers Day 2015 was spent dedicating Abigail to the Lord. The Taylor, Frye, and Meadows families were in attendance.
What, you aren't following the Frye's on Instagram?? That's okay we have a cool new feature for you. We post pictures and videos pretty frequently on Instagram and have found a way to share those pictures and videos with you (the non-Instagram users). At the top of Fryeday.com, above the cute header, there is a new tab called "Instagram Feed"
By clicking on that tab, you will see all the pictures and videos we have taken, organized by kid. If you ware using an RSS reader, you can add this page and be notified when there are changes.
If you are on Instagram, be sure to use the official Frye hashtags; #CarsonJoy #Blakeroni, #AbieGrace, #FamilyFrye
If for some reason you are on Instagram and not following us (whats wrong with you?), follow us at:
(you non-instagramers can click on those user names and see whats going on too. Occasionally we post non-kid pictures but no one cares about those).
What a fun weekend! Months ago before Abigail was born, Melissa signed up for the Frederick Half Marathon as motivation to get back in shape post Abigail and before her sister's wedding. While signing up she noticed there was a Kid Fun Run. Carson enjoys going to Melissa's races and really enjoys running herself, so Melissa signed her up. Over the past couple months Melissa has been pounding the pavement to get miles in working up to the 13.1 miles required for the race. Carson would go to the end of the drive way to cheer mommy on. Occasionally, when Melissa would return from her runs, Carson would go with her on a cool down lap. The route was one lap around our street which is 1/4 mile uphill and 1/4 mile downhill for a total of 1/2 mile. Carson, being only 4 years old, would run this lap with no problems, even accelerating up the hill.
Come race day Carson was excited! She picked up her race packet with bib number and shirt and couldn't wait to put it on. It was official, with her number, she was just like Mommy. To the starting line we went with over 300 other kids.
Neither 300 kids, nor race day butterflies can phase this girl. Carson was cool as a cucumber. She was thumbs up and ready to RUN!
The starting siren went off and Carson sprinted out of the gate. Surprisingly she kept this pace the entire race, passing boys and older kids. Crossing the finish line she raised her arms in VICTORY!! She had completed her first official race!!
Post race she was extremely proud of her medal. Being the kind hearted girl she is, the first thing she did was to let Blake wear it. We couldn't be more proud of her.
I put together a video recapping her first race (Carson is wearing white shorts and pink shoes in the race day video) ....
The next day it was the adult turn; the half marathon. Melissa and her two sisters, Caitlin and Emma were running in this one. Carson made signs of encouragement for the runners. Melissa's sign read "Go Mommy Go" and "Watch out for cars" because Carson was very concerned that Mommy would be running in the streets and not on side walks. Caitlin and Emma's sign read "Run Faster If You Want To Win" and had a drawling of a sad bunny. He was sad because "he ate too much sugar and his belly hurt".
During the race, Jody (Caitlin's fiancee), Scott (Emma's boyfriend), Abigail, Blake, Carson and I went to various points along the race route to cheer on the 5,000 runners. Everyone did an amazing job. 13.1 miles is no joke! Unfortunately, we were cheering so much we forgot to take pictures. Luckily MarathonFoto.com was there taking pictures of the runners coming down the home stretch just before crossing the finish line.
The sisters did incredibly well with each one beating their goal time!!!
Post race was a time for Ibuprofen, water, ice, and pictures. I could not be more proud of all of these ladies.
Everyone loves moving pictures. Here are some from the last couple months...
Carson enjoying the first nice day of spring...
The best part about being a child is not having a care in the world. Why not dance in the rain? Blake and Abigail are not amused.
Blake loves sports....
We didn't do anything special for St. Patrick's Day, but we did take some pictures! Abigail is a whopping 3 months old. She has started to realize that she has hands and has started to reach out and grab her toys. She also likes soft things and pulls her blanket up to her face when she's getting sleepy in her swing or seat. She loves to watch the big kids run around and she even got to spend some time outside when we went to the park. Abigail also loves to talk. She coos and coos, telling her whole life story. It's so fun.
One Month Stats:
10 lbs 6 oz
Two Month Stats:
12 lbs 8 oz
23.5 in long
Little Miss Abigail is growing like a weed. We are in 3-6 month clothes and going strong. She is becoming more alert and loves watching what is going on around her... which is always something. She can find her mommy no matter where I may be in the room. She still eats like a champ and sleeping four hour stretches, occasionally five. She smiles at everyone who talks to her and thinks high pitch voices are really funny. She has started talking too! At this rate, she may be saying sentences before her brother. He joins her in whatever she's doing. Tummy time is a family favorite because usually it ends up with all three kids on the floor together. Abigail doesn't complain too much. She can lift her head completely off the floor. She's a strong little girl. She also enjoys her bumbo in short bursts as well.
Blake LOVES his sister and Carson is quite the helper. Abigail is in very good hands.
