My dad recently cleaned out the pond.  To do so, him and Carson put the fish into a wheel barrow.  Carson had a blast.

Cheery Blossoms

Jim posted a picture on Instagram and he mistitled it "Cheery Blossoms". Well, I thought it was a perfect title for our afternoon in DC. It was full of CHEER along with Cherry Blossoms.

We headed down after church. It took us a while to get down there, but that was ok because Carson was able to take a nap. Once we parked, we had a picnic lunch by the Washington Monument. Then we walked down to the Tidal Basin. We enjoyed the Tulip garden and played in the fields. We walked to the Jefferson Memorial where Carson learned to say "Thomas Jefferson". She thought it was a castle. Afterwards we walked a little more, enjoyed a little ice cream on the mall and ran a bit more. It was a great family day!

Palm Sunday

Carson had a blast marching in with the children during the Sunday School fellowship on Palm Sunday. The kids marched around waving olive branches and humming "Jesus Loves Me" on the kazoos.

It doesn't take much to entertain this girl. While spending the day with Grammy and Grandpa they filled a bucket with water for Carson to play with.

American Red Cross

I first gave blood in high school as soon as I turned 18. Apparently my face was white as a ghost because the tech kept leaning my seat back. The next time I donated was during the summer of my senior year of college. I was working as a mascot (oh you didn't know I was a mascot?) and we were doing a photoshoot at the blood bank. While I was there I donated. And the same thing happened; white face, bed leaned wayyyy back.

This morning The American Red Cross was holding a blood drive today next to my work. I had some extra time so I stopped by. I was asked if I wanted to give double red cells or whole cells. I had never heard of double red cells but gave it a shot.  According to the Red Cross' website "Double red cell donation is similar to a whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to allow you to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets to you."  The donation is a little longer (45-55 minutes) but each donation lets you give more of the blood that is needed most by patients.

I am happy to report that I survived and my bed wasn't reclined at all.  haha  The tech said it because the blood was returned to me.  Either way I made it and I "gave another a chance".
